Q + A

When should I RSVP by?

May 1st at the latest!

Where should I stay?

There are no shortage of options, though nothing great near the wedding venue. We have not pre-selected a hotel or arranged any blocks because we imagine people will all have different neighborhood preferences. We of course highly recommend Andersonville (where we live), or the surrounding neighborhoods. If you really want to be close to the venue itself, we suggest checking out airbnb for options. Downtown Chicago is also a short uber ride away from the venue and has endless hotel choices.

What time should I arrive for the ceremony?

The venue will be ready for guests at 5pm and we suggest shooting for then to allow plenty of time for Chicago Friday afternoon traffic. Irving Park road can get VERY backed up at rush hour. The ceremony will begin promptly at 5:30pm!

How do I get to and from the wedding venue?

Best bet is to take a Lyft/Uber or drive. The Irving Park bus will also drop off right in front.

What about parking?

The venue is reserving the church parking lot across the street for us. If you do drive, there will be free parking for the evening. More details to come, so check back here.

Can I bring my kids, friend, neighbor?

While we love children, this is an adults-only venue and children under 14 will not be admitted. We hope you understand our decision and can arrange childcare for the evening so you can join us! The venue has a very firm capacity limit, and we are at it! That means no extra guests. If you believe the software has made a mistake and is not allowing you to RSVP for your whole party, please do reach out though.

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

The ceremony will be outside, on a lovely pergola-covered patio (no grass), and then we will all move indoors for dinner & the rest of the party. If weather requires it, we will have a tent for the ceremony, but it will still be held outside.

I have accessibility/diet needs. What should I do?

You will have a chance to share any allergies or dietary needs when you RSVP. As for accessibility, the venue is equipped with an elevator. For anything else, please reach out to Sarah or Sylvia directly.

Help! Your dress code confuses me

If you need help, we're happy to brainstorm with you! All we care about is that you come feeling your best and ready for a party.

(For inspiration, feel free to peruse this Pinterest board that we made.)

Karaoke at a wedding. Really?

Yes, really. Sarah loves dancing. Sylvia loves karaoke. So we're doing both! No pressure to participate, but we hope you stick around--this crowd is sure to make it a night to remember!

Ok the wedding is over and I've gotten some sleep, now what?

Come join us for some casual hangs on Saturday! More to come as we get closer to June, but we'll plan some social activities throughout the day.

What is your new name going to be?

As much as a few folks are pushing for "Fessler," we are each keeping our own last names.

Is it ok to post wedding photos on social media?

We'd rather not - - at least until we've had a chance to post a few of our own (at least ones we are in). We will be sharing a QR code on tables though, and we would LOVE if you upload any photos you take to a shared folder we can see too!

Please reach out to either of us if there's a question that isn't answered above. We cannot wait to celebrate with you! We all could use some community and JOY right now.
